Workflow Engineer II at MIM Software

María Teresa Ruiz Alba has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical research and software engineering. In 2017, they completed an internship at the 3D printing laboratory of the Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica del Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón. María Teresa then went on to work as a Software Engineering Intern at Avanade from October 2018 to January 2019. In 2019, they worked as a Graduate Researcher in the Medical Imaging Laboratory at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. From September 2020 to March 2021, they served as a Graduate Research Intern at the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (BIGR) where they worked on a research project involving the quantification and analysis of photoreceptor cells using Deep Learning for the detection of inherited retinal degenerations. This project was done in collaboration with Imagine Eyes and the Quinze-Vingts National Ophthalmology Hospital and Vision Institute in France. In January 2021, they started their MSc Thesis in the Radiotherapy Department of Erasmus MC, where they continued their research in the field. María Teresa'smost recent position is as a Workflow Services Engineer at MIM Software Inc., which they started in February 2022.

María Teresa Ruiz Alba obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid from 2014 to 2018. María Teresa then pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Medical Physics at Delft University of Technology from 2019 to 2022. In May 2021, María obtained a certification as a Radiation Protection Expert (Coördinerend Deskundige - Former Level 3) from NCSV.
