George Penman has over 20 years of experience in research and development, laboratory operations, and technology. In 1999, they began their career as an Assembly Technician at NCR Corporation. In 2005, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics. From 2007 to 2009, they were a Specialist Game Master at Blizzard Entertainment and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Dundee. From 2012 to 2016, they were a Technical Applications Scientist II at Life Technologies. At Illumina, they were a Field Application Scientist from 2016 to 2017. At Genomics Medicine Ireland, they held the roles of Global Sequencing Scientist II, Senior Laboratory Scientist II, and Senior Scientist I from 2017 to 2020. In 2021, they became Managing Director at Continuity Laboratory Solutions. Their current role is Director of Research & Development and Laboratory Operations at Mindera Health, which they began in 2022.
George Penman completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry from the University of Dundee in 2000. George then continued their studies at the same university, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2004.
