Juan Fernando Larranaga

Juan Fernando Larranaga currently serves as the Head of Place-Based, Community Empowerment at the Minderoo Foundation, a position held since January 2020. Previously, Larranaga was the Policy and Portfolio Manager at the Youth Partnership Project, contributing to the development of a sustainable youth early intervention framework from July 2014 to December 2019. Significant experience also includes roles at Save the Children Australia, where Larranaga was the Director for Western Australia and held several leadership positions from June 2008 to December 2019, notably increasing program income by 60% within a year. Earlier roles include managing humanitarian operations for the Republic of Nauru and Manus Island offshore processing centres, as well as leading public health initiatives at Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Services and WA Country Health Service. Larranaga's extensive academic background includes degrees in Public Health and International and Community Development from Deakin University and Menzies School of Health Research, among others.
