Gabi Immelman has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Production Manager for Saartjie Botha, a prominent entertainment figure in South Africa. In 2014, they joined the City of Palo Alto as the Director, Teaching Artist, and Technician, where they focused on multi-arts education for young audiences. In 2015, they served as an Associate Producer for the Modern Times Stage Company, creating and producing original plays. Beginning in 2016, Gabi founded Pukka School, where they designed creative projects aimed at developing children's confidence, collaboration, curiosity, resilience, and body control. Gabi also worked as the Head of Learning and Development at Maara House from 2018 to 2020, overseeing learning initiatives. Currently, they are the Co-Founder and CEO of Mindjoy, an innovative learning platform empowering educators and students with real-world tech projects.

Gabi Immelman has a Master of Philosophy degree in Inclusive Innovation in Education from the University of Cape Town, which was completed from 2020 to 2021. Previously, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Stellenbosch University in 2012-2013. Gabi also completed a Short Course in Marketing from the University of Cape Town in the same year. In 2009-2012, Gabi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama/Theatre Arts and Stagecraft from Stellenbosch University. Additionally, they participated in the LCE Summer Forum Labs for Developing your Practice Lab for Teaching Artists at Lincoln Center Education in 2017.
