Scott Shewcraft

Scott Shewcraft has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Law Clerk at the Michigan Law Revision Commission from June 2008 to May 2010. Scott then worked as a Housing Fellow at the U.S. House of Representatives from August 2011 to January 2012, where they played a key role in preserving funding for Community Development Block Grants and drafting bills to address foreclosure and vacancy crises. From there, they joined HUD as a Presidential Management Fellow from June 2010 to April 2015, where they drafted opinions, reviewed transactions, and prepared congressional correspondence. Scott then returned to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Legislative Director from May 2015 to November 2018, and later as Chief of Staff from November 2018 to May 2021. Their most recent position was Vice President of Policy at the Economic Innovation Group from May 2021 to February 2023, and they are currently working as a Senior Director and Principal at Mindset since February 2023.

Scott Shewcraft's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy from Albion College in 2007. Scott then attended Michigan State University College of Law from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a focus on Corporate law. Following this, Scott pursued further education at Georgetown University Law Center from 2010 to 2012, earning an LLM degree in Securities and Financial Regulation. Scott completed their high school education at Woodhaven High School in 2003.
