Hugo Angulo began their work experience in 2012 as a Technical Support Analyst at New Access S.A. Hugo then moved on to become the Information Security Manager at the same company from September 2014 to February 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Security Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services. Following this, they served as an Ethical Hacking Consultant at Telefónica Ingeniería de Seguridad for a brief period in 2016.

In 2017, Hugo Angulo joined Carnegie Mellon University as a Teaching Assistant, where they evaluated assignments, held office hours, and recorded video tips on various topics. Later in 2017, they worked at Tecumseh Vision as a Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on applying machine learning to eye-related diseases, particularly Aged Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD).

In 2018, Hugo Angulo returned to Carnegie Mellon University as a Data Analyst and Software Engineer at CAOsLab within the Psychology Department. Hugo was responsible for developing software solutions and using behavioral and neuroimaging techniques to understand cognitive impairment situations and quantitative reasoning in children and non-human primates.

Lastly, in 2020, Hugo Angulo co-founded MindTrace, a company aimed at commercializing innovations for predicting the effects of neurosurgical interventions on patients' minds. As the Co-Founder and CTO, they are leading the development of a patent-pending brain map software device that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to assist in neurosurgery planning and improve post-operative quality of life.

Hugo Angulo has a diverse education history. Hugo obtained a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas - ESPE, completing their studies from 2005 to 2011. In 2012 to 2013, they pursued English Proficiency at the Fulbright Commission. In 2013, they received a certification in Security Informatics and Systems from Security, Solutions & Education (Colombia). Hugo further enhanced their knowledge in this field by becoming a Certified Ethical Hacker through the EC-Council in September 2014.

In 2016 to 2018, Hugo attended Carnegie Mellon University, where they pursued a Master of Science in Biotechnology Innovation and Computation with a focus on Computer Science. Hugo'seducational journey continued with additional certifications, including becoming an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner through Amazon Web Services in January 2023 and obtaining another Certified Ethical Hacker certification in September 2014.
