Omar Castillo is an experienced professional in the mining industry, currently serving as the Continuous Improvement and Production Control Superintendent at Minera Chinalco Perú S.A. since March 2014. With a background that includes roles such as General Mine Chief and Training and Continuous Improvement Chief, Omar has expertise in mine operations, risk assessment, production control, and staff training. Previously, Omar held various positions at Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A., encompassing responsibilities in drilling and blasting, training and productivity, as well as supervision and evaluation of open-pit mining operations. Omar also has experience in project management from earlier roles, where coordination between Peru, Chile, and Argentina was essential. Educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the National University of Engineering and a Certified degree in Finance from Universidad ESAN.
