Stathis Karlis

Stathis Karlis, PhD, is a highly experienced professional in mechanical engineering and project management, currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer at Minerva Marine Inc. since June 2023. With an extensive background, Stathis has also held roles as a Research Assistant at Imperial College London since November 2015, leading safety protocol updates and training postgraduate researchers. As a doctoral researcher at Imperial College London from 2016 to 2020, Stathis conducted innovative research on thermoacoustic instabilities in gas turbine engines. Prior experience includes work as a Project Engineer at Hellenic Tankers Co Ltd, focusing on IMO compliance and decarbonization initiatives, a Combustion Consultant at Siemens, and military service as a Corporal in the Hellenic Army. Stathis holds a Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
