Ati Hoseini, PhD, PEng , PMP

Ati Hoseini, PhD, PEng, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies. They began their career at Sharif Energy Research Institute as a Research Assistant from September 2011 to July 2013. Following this, Ati joined Simon Fraser University as a Teaching Assistant from January 2015 to December 2017 and as a Research Assistant from September 2013 to September 2017. In addition, they also worked as a Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University Continuing Studies from December 2016 to April 2017.

In 2017, Ati moved to Corvus Energy, where they progressed from a Quality Engineer (November 2017 to June 2018) to a Project Engineer (July 2018 to August 2019) and then to a Project Manager (September 2019 to January 2020). In this role, they managed cross-functional teams and collaborated closely with the executive team for the design, validation, prototype, and pilot production of various products.

From 2020 to 2023, Ati worked at Ballard Power Systems, initially as a Product Development Engineer in Stack Engineering (February 2020 to July 2022). They investigated and resolved stack failures, leading a team of engineers to implement design changes and enhance technical performance. They were then promoted to Implementation Lead (Hardware/Unit cell) from January 2021 to July 2022, where they took on leadership responsibilities for product design and development programs, managing a team of engineers remotely during the pandemic. Notable achievements include conducting requirement gathering workshops, developing safety strategies, and successfully delivering proof-of-concept designs on time and within scope.

Currently, Ati is employed at MineSense Technologies Ltd. as a Manager of Product Development Delivery from May 2023 onwards. No end date for this role has been provided.

Ati Hoseini obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Energy Systems Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies from 2011 to 2013.

In 2013, Ati Hoseini enrolled in Simon Fraser University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechatronics Engineering. They successfully completed their doctoral studies in 2017.

In 2019, Ati Hoseini attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology to obtain a Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Course Certificate.

In addition to their formal education, Ati Hoseini has also obtained various certifications. They received a Tolerance Stacks Using GD&T certification from Advantage GD&T Training and Consulting in August 2021. In July 2021, they obtained a certification in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing based on ASME Y14.5-2009 from the same institution. In April 2021, Ati Hoseini completed a Problem Solving Decision Making course from Kepner-Tregoe.

Moreover, Ati Hoseini is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. They have also received training in SOLIDWORKS Mechanical Design - Associate from VirtualTester Online, Tangix Design & Development AB.
