Kamyar Jafari-Esfahani, P.Eng has extensive work experience in mechanical engineering.

From July 2022, they worked at MineSense Technologies Ltd. as the Director of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to this, they held the position of Manager of Mechanical Engineering from March 2021 to August 2022. In their previous role as Senior Mechanical Engineer at the same company from October 2016 to March 2021, they led the design of new generation XRF sensors for MineSense ShovelSense application. Kamyar was responsible for improving thermal management performance, IPX5 design, robustness against vibration and shock, assembly, testability, and manufacturability. Before this, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at MineSense Technologies Ltd. from November 2012 to October 2016. In this role, they managed projects for ore sorting systems, led the design and development of a new ore sorting product, and managed the design and procurement of conveyor belts for MineSense SortOre application.

In 2011, Kamyar worked at Research In Motion as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed electromechanical fixtures for semi-automated tests of BlackBerry smartphones. Kamyar also optimized the fixtures for size and functionality and improved team efficiency by creating Pro/ENGINEER macros.

In 2010, they worked as a Research Assistant - Mechatronic Engineer, EIT at the Laboratory for Alternative Energy Conversion. Here, they designed a test fixture to analyze thermal efficiency of microelectronics cooling finned enclosures and optimized the fixture design for optimal size and mobility. Kamyar also constructed the structure of the test bed using a CNC laser cutting system and 3D printing.

Kamyar's work experience also includes a short role as a Mechanical Engineer, EIT at The Hain Celestial Group in 2010. In this position, they enhanced the performance of factory machines, developed a user-friendly database for machine spare parts inventory, and saved $15000 by designing an innovative mechanical extension system for a pasteurizing machine.

Kamyar Jafari-Esfahani, P.Eng., pursued their education at Simon Fraser University from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering. Additionally, they have obtained the certification of Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) from the Engineers and Geoscientists BC, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification is not provided.
