Syed Tanjid Hossain, EIT

Syed Tanjid Hossain, EIT has a diverse range of work experience in mechanical engineering and related fields. Syed Tanjid currently works as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer at MineSense Technologies Ltd. starting in May 2023.

Prior to that, Syed worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Corvus Energy from March 2022 to March 2023. In this role, they assisted senior designers with the development of battery module enclosures, developed solutions for enclosure assembly, and led the test team for successful enclosure assembly and IP rating. Syed Tanjid also developed test fixtures and assemblies to understand and implement manufacturing processes.

From October 2020 to February 2022, Syed was a Mechatronics Designer at CubicFarm Systems Corp. There, they led 3D mechanical design using Solidworks for new product components, fixtures, and test assemblies. Syed Tanjid also solved issues with load management and friction, and provided drawing packages for procurement and installation teams.

Syed previously worked as a Mechanical Designer at SCS Steel Container Systems Inc. from June 2019 to October 2020. In this role, they managed all phases of the design process for various products and prepared detailed CAD model drawings. Syed Tanjid also produced detailed drawings and specifications using Solid Edge.

In addition to their engineering roles, Syed has experience as a Course Instructor at Kids Advanced Tech (KAT) Club, teaching coding, 3D design, and circuit design to students in grades 3 to 7 from September 2018 to April 2019. Syed Tanjid also has managerial experience at Virtual Reality Eggs, where they surveyed the market, procured Virtual Reality machines from China, and achieved significant cost savings.

Syed's work experience also includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia from September 2016 to December 2018. In this position, they developed an Actuator Test Fixture and a characterized model using fluid and hydraulic equations and Matlab/Simulink.

Prior to that, Syed worked as a Business Development Executive at Aydan Group PLT from September 2015 to July 2016. Syed Tanjid was responsible for creating corporate and technical training brochure contents, bringing in new customers, and implementing a new system for generating sales leads.

Syed's earlier experiences include working as a Grader at the Department of Mechatronics, International Islamic University Malaysia from February 2014 to June 2015, and as a Design Engineer (Intern) at Robotics Learning Sdn Bhd from June 2014 to August 2014, where they assembled and programmed Vex Educational Robots and taught coding and robot assembly to young children.

Syed Tanjid Hossain, EIT obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechatronics from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) from 2011 to 2015. Syed Tanjid continued their education and completed a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia between 2016 and 2018. Additionally, in 2022, Syed Tanjid Hossain obtained a certification in Complete Web Development Course from Programming Hero.
