Caroline Nordquist

Director of Advancement at Mingei International Museum

Caroline Nordquist is the Director of Advancement at Mingei International Museum. Caroline has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, specializing in fundraising and event planning.

Caroline began their career in 1992 as the Manager of Environment California. In 1996, they took a position at the San Diego Museum of Art as the Grants Manager and Patron's Circle Coordinator. While at the Museum, they increased fundraising efforts and planned and implemented donor and community events.

In 2006, Caroline moved to La Jolla Playhouse where they served as the Manager of Institutional and Government Grants. In this role, they were responsible for writing and managing proposals, as well as increasing the Playhouse's fundraising efforts.

After a brief stint at Outside the Lens as Development Director, Caroline joined Alzheimer's San Diego in 2012 as their Director of Development. Caroline spent two years at Alzheimer's before joining Mingei International Museum in 2014.

Caroline Nordquist studied journalism at Harlow College and the University of California, Berkeley.

Their manager is Jessica Hanson York, Executive Director & CEO. They work with Caitlin Podas - Manager of Registration & Exhibitions, Emily Hanna - Director of Exhibitions & Chief Curator, and Shannon Foley - Senior Manager of Education. Christine Tilton - Development & Volunteer Coordinator, Heather Kerner - Development Manager, and Allison Manch - Membership Assistant report to Caroline Nordquist.
