Mingei International Museum
Diana Benavidez currently serves as the Assistant Manager of Engagement, Learning, and Impact at Mingei International Museum since August 2022, after holding the position of Education Specialist. Diana's extensive experience includes various roles at Parkeolgy, such as Executive Assistant for the Parkeology Public Art Series, Face Casting Technician at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and multiple positions related to tours and installations in Balboa Park. Previously, Diana worked with Girl Scouts San Diego as a Regional Membership Specialist and had significant involvement in communications and events with Rising Arts Leaders San Diego and Save Starlight. Additional experiences include teaching assistance at Penland School of Crafts and studio assistance at UC San Diego, where Diana earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fine and Studio Arts.

Mingei International Museum preserves and exhibits folk art, craft and design from all eras and cultures of the world. Mingei celebrates human creativity, and the belief that everyday object and materials that often serve a useful purpose can also be objects of beauty.
