Dr Chris Kebbell

Dr. Chris Kebbell currently serves as the Group Manager of Operational Readiness for Exotic Diseases at the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) since May 2022, focusing on biosecurity readiness for exotic disease incursions. Previously, Dr. Kebbell held the position of Chief Food Safety Officer within MPI's Food Safety sector and served as Primary Industries Counsellor for the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade from May 2018 to November 2024. Dr. Kebbell's career includes roles such as Director of Verification Services at the New Zealand Food Safety Authority and Assistant Director of Imports and Market Access at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade. Dr. Kebbell holds a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Meat Industry Operations, both from Massey University.
