James Kilbride

James Kilbride holds extensive experience in policy development and management within the New Zealand public sector. Currently serving as Principal Adviser in Primary Sector Policy at the Ministry for Primary Industries since May 2022, James has previously held significant roles including Manager of Cost Recovery Policy and Senior Policy Analyst at the Department of Internal Affairs. James's background includes positions related to biosecurity and animal welfare, notably as Private Secretary for Biosecurity at the MPI Minister’s Office and in various analytical roles within MPI’s Biosecurity & Animal Welfare Directorate. James's career also spans local government and transport planning, having worked as a Policy Planner for Kapiti Coast District Council, Resource Officer in Yellowknife, and Transport Planner at NZ Transport Agency. Educational qualifications include a Post-Graduate Certificate in Economics from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Environmental Management from Lincoln University (NZ).
