Head Of Establishment Unit For The Centre For Climate Action On Agricultural Emissions at Ministry for Primary Industries

Naomi Parker serves as the Executive Director at the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre since October 2023. With extensive experience at the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) from 2011 to the present, Naomi has held multiple leadership roles including Head of Establishment Unit for the Centre for Climate Action on Agricultural Emissions, Manager of Science Policy, and Director of Food, Skills and Science Policy. Prior positions include Manager of Biosecurity Strategic Science at Biosecurity New Zealand and roles in the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and the National Oceans Office. Naomi holds a Bachelor of Science from Flinders University, a Master of Science in Ecology from the University of Tennessee, and a PhD in Phytoplankton Ecology from the University of Tasmania, where Naomi is also pursuing a Graduate Diploma of Antarctic and Southern Ocean Studies with Honours.
