Shannon Tyler is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy analysis and management within government agencies. Currently serving as the Manager of Forestry and Bioeconomy Policy at the Ministry for Primary Industries since April 2022, Shannon previously held the role of Senior Analyst at The Treasury - New Zealand from January 2020 to April 2022. Prior to that, Shannon contributed to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment as a Senior Policy Advisor, Private Secretary for Regional Economic Development, and Policy Advisor between November 2013 and January 2020. Shannon's career began at the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries as a Fisheries Analyst focused on Inshore Fisheries Management from January 2011 to November 2013. Additionally, Shannon worked as an Economics Tutor at the University of Canterbury and gained early experience as a Factory Hand and Retail Assistant at Guytons Fisheries Ltd. Shannon holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Canterbury, earned in 2009.
