Kavya Shrivastava

Kavya Shrivastava is a seasoned professional currently serving as Principal Commercial Specialist at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment since November 2025. Prior to this role, Kavya worked as a Commercial Advisor at The Building Intelligence Group and held various positions including National Property Portfolio Manager at Fire and Emergency NZ and Senior Property Consultant at WSP. Kavya has also contributed to IPANZ New Professionals as Convenor and served on the Board of IPANZ. Previous experience includes portfolio management roles at Land Information New Zealand and a Grants Officer position at the New Zealand Ministry of Justice. Kavya holds an Executive MBA from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, International Business, and Marketing from the same institution. Educational background includes attendance at Wellington Girls' College.
