Matt Chisnall

Matt Chisnall is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in commercial management and investment leadership, currently serving as the Commercial Lead for the Investment Management Branch at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment since July 2018. With a focus on strategic tourism asset protection and regional economic development, Matt manages investment portfolios for Southland, Wairarapa, and Kāpiti regions, overseeing funding evaluations and contract negotiations. Prior to this role, Matt held commercial management positions at Chorus NZ Limited and APA Group, and contributed to various legal roles focused on restructuring and insolvency. Matt Chisnall holds an LLM in International Economic Law from Victoria University of Wellington and an LLB and BCom from the University of Otago.
