Rakan Alhumaymidi is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate policies and regulations, currently serving as the Director of Corporate Policies and Regulations at the Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia since July 2016. Rakan's key responsibilities include drafting the new Companies Act and participating as a member of the Committees for Violations of both the Companies Act and the Agency Act, where scrutiny of violations and imposition of penalties are undertaken. Additionally, Rakan's expertise in legal research has contributed to the formulation of statutes such as the Saudi Franchise Act and the Saudi National Competitiveness Center regulation. Previously, Rakan worked as a legal columnist for Lawyers Without Borders and held positions at Al-Watania Poultry and Baker McKenzie. Academically, Rakan holds a Master of Laws in International Commercial Law from Cardiff University, along with a Bachelor of Laws from Qassim University.
