Marie Allikmaa has a diverse work experience in various government ministries in Estonia. Marie most recently served as the Head of Business and Consumer Environment Department at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of External Economic Policy Division and Advisor of Digital Economy at the same ministry. Marie also worked as an Advisor of Services Trade at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications.
In addition, Marie has experience in the Ministry of Rural Affairs, where they worked as an Advisor of Foreign Trade and as a Chief Specialist of Foreign Trade.
Marie Allikmaa completed their Bachelor of Social Science degree in Political Science and Government at the University of Tartu from 2009 to 2013. Marie then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Politics, Economics and Philosophy (PEP) from the University of Hamburg between 2013 and 2016. In addition, they were an exchange student at the University of Konstanz, studying Politics and Public Administration, during the year 2012 to 2013.
