Colin McLean's work experience includes various roles in both the education sector and engineering industry. Colin. worked at the Ministry of Education in the UAE as a Higher Education Lead Inspector Specialist. Prior to that, they held positions at IT Sligo, where they served as the VP of Academic Affairs and Registrar, as well as the Interim President. At Limerick Institute of Technology, they served as the Head of Faculty of Business and Humanities, Head of LIT Tipperary School, External Services Manager, Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturer in Electromechanical Engineering. Colin. also worked at Coatbridge College as a Senior Lecturer, and at West Lothian College as an Extended Lecturer and Lecturer. Colin.'searly career involved roles at Plastic Design and Fabrication Ltd as a Production Engineer and at UIE Scotland Ltd as an Undergraduate Engineer.

Colin McLean obtained a BSc Hons in Industrial Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland in 1987. Colin. then went on to earn a PG Diploma in Educational Technology from the University of Strathclyde in 1994 and a TQFE (Teaching Qualification - Further Education) from the same university in the same year. In 2001, Colin completed an MSc in Computer Integrated Manufacture from the University of Limerick. Colin. also obtained a PG Cert in Management of Tertiary Education from the University of Stirling in 2001.
