Eleni Vrentzou

Eleni Vrentzou has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Eleni started their career as an Auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. in 2000. Eleni then worked as an Internal Auditor at Alpha Bank before joining the Bank of Greece as an Accounting employee in 2003. In 2004, they began working at the Ministry of Finance, where they held various positions including Expert and Head of Unit. During their time at the Ministry, they had responsibilities such as representing Greece to the European Commission, monitoring compliance of credit institutions, and formulating proposals on financial sector issues. Eleni also served as Vice President at the Hellenic Accounting and Auditing Standards Oversight Board's Audit Inspection Unit. Eleni's most recent role is Head of Unit at the Ministry of Finance, which they started in March 2021.

Eleni Vrentzou completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Athens University of Economics and Business from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Finance, General at the University of Strathclyde, and completed it from 1999 to 2000. Eleni then obtained a Certificate in Accounting and Auditing from the Institute of Chartered Auditors, which they completed between 2000 and 2003. Lastly, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Accounting and Finance from Athens University of Economics and Business from 2002 to 2005.
