Michael Amourgianos

Michael Amourgianos serves as an Economist - Scientific Advisor at the Ministry of Finance, Hellenic Republic, since October 2017, specializing in macroeconomic policy and forecasting, with expertise in macroeconomic modeling, DSGE, sovereign bonds, debt sustainability analysis, and fiscal and monetary policy analysis. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at Athens University of Economics and Business and the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research, as well as military service in the Hellenic Air Force, where financial viability reports were conducted. Michael holds an MSc in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and has furthered education through specialized programs at the University of Glasgow and the University of Warwick, alongside a BSc in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business.
