Thanos Petralias

Thanos Petralias is a prominent figure in the field of finance and economics, currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary General for Fiscal Policy at the Ministry of Finance, Hellenic Republic since July 2019. Prior to this role, Thanos was President of the Board of Directors at the Hellenic Public Debt Management Agency and has held significant positions at the Bank of Greece and the Prolepsis Institute, where responsibilities included leading research programs and managing impact evaluations of policy reforms. An academic at heart, Thanos has also contributed as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Athens University of Economics and Business, focusing on advanced statistical models. Thanos holds a Ph.D. in Statistics, as well as a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics and Finance, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, all from the same institution.
