Mary Ann Thomas

Mary Ann Thomas is a seasoned professional in public finance and international relations, currently serving as Principal Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Malaysia since October 2023. Prior to this role, Mary Ann held the position of Manager at PETRONAS from September 2021 to September 2023, and served as Principal Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Malaysia from March 2014 to April 2022, focusing on Malaysia's relationships with various Multilateral Development Banks and financial matters with countries such as the United Kingdom and Germany. Additionally, Mary Ann worked as a Special Functions Officer at the Office of the Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia and as an Assistant Director at the Economic Planning Unit earlier in their career. In terms of education, Mary Ann holds an MSc in Management (Human Resource Management) from the University of Bath and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Gender Studies from Universiti Malaya.
