Jeroen Sprangers is an accomplished diplomat and cultural organizer with extensive experience in international relations and event management. Currently serving as the First Secretary at the Netherlands Permanent Representation to the African Union since June 2021, Jeroen previously held the position of First Secretary at the Dutch Embassy in Venezuela, focusing on bilateral ties in politics, economics, and culture. Jeroen has also contributed to the development of nuclear policy as a Policy Officer for Nuclear Affairs at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken. Additionally, Jeroen was the Chairman of the Board for SummerJazz, a foundation dedicated to organizing cultural and music events. With a strong educational background in Astronomy and Physics from Leiden University, Jeroen has demonstrated leadership in various capacities, including as Managing Director of Stichting Leiden is OPEN and as a lecturer at HKUST.
