Marisa Gerards

Marisa Gerards is currently serving as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, Nepal, and Bhutan since August 2023. Prior to this role, Marisa was the Directeur General Beleid at the Ministerie van Defensie from August 2022 to August 2023. Marisa's extensive experience in international relations includes serving as the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to NATO and as Ambassador to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland from March 2011 to September 2022. Additionally, Marisa held the position of Deputy Director-General for Political Affairs at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken and served as the Director of International Affairs at the Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat from March 2009 to March 2011.
