Eva-Maria Liimets currently serves as the Head of Strategy for the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkans at the Estonian Centre for International Development since August 2022. In parallel, Eva-Maria Liimets has held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia since September 2017 and has also acted as the Ambassador of Estonia to Croatia, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. Prior to these roles, Eva-Maria Liimets was the Consul General at the Consulate General of Estonia in New York from August 2014 to August 2017 and served as the Director of Division (International Organisations) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia from September 2009 to August 2014. Eva-Maria Liimets holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Estonian Business School and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Public Administration from the University of Tartu. Additionally, Eva-Maria Liimets completed studies at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
