Rachel Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Rachel worked as an Associate Scientist and Senior Research Associate at MiNK Therapeutics from 2018 to the present. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Research Associate at Ora, Inc. from 2016 to 2018. At Duke University, Rachel was a Graduate Research Assistant from 2012 to 2016, where they studied the regulation of dendritic cell maturation in the conjunctiva and DC-derived thrombospondin-1 expression. Before that, they worked as a Cell Culture Laboratory Technician at MatTek Corporation from 2011 to 2012, where they generated in vitro tissue models of healthy and asthmatic human lungs. Rachel's work experience began as an Undergraduate Researcher at Brandeis University from May 2008 to November 2008, where they studied embryonic mouse cell development and the genes responsible for the commitment to division during the blastocyte stage.
Rachel Smith completed their education with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Brandeis University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended Milford High School from 2002 to 2006 and obtained a High School diploma. Rachel later pursued a Master's degree in Immunology at Duke University, studying from 2012 to 2016.
