Katelyn Swanson

Associate Research Coordinator at Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation

Katelyn Swanson has a diverse work experience that spans several years. In 2017, they worked as a Research Assistant at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Katelyn then moved on to the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, where they served as an Undergraduate Research Intern from 2018 to 2021. During this time, they conducted mouse studies and performed LC-MS/MS analysis on biological samples. Katelyn also utilized SimBiology on MATLAB to create pharmacokinetic models for predicting drug distribution and effect. In 2019, Katelyn took on the role of Biol 3004 Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota College of Biological Sciences, where they assisted students in lab and class sections, primarily focusing on the Zebrafish Toxicology section. In 2022, they joined Access Genetics as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, where they were responsible for receiving, accessioning, and preparing patient samples for molecular diagnostic testing, as well as maintaining lab supplies and organizing lab paperwork. Currently, Katelyn is an Associate Research Coordinator at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, a role they began in May 2023.

Katelyn Swanson attended Century Senior High School from 2013 to 2017, where they earned an Honors Diploma. Following that, they pursued their higher education at the University of Minnesota from 2017 to 2021. During their time there, they pursued a Biology, B.S., Mathematics, B.A., with a minor in Latin.
