Nafeesah Muhammad

Nafeesah Muhammad, M.Ed, currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Literacy Education in Urban Secondary Schools at Metropolitan State University, contributing to the examination of literacy aspects in urban classrooms since August 2024. In parallel, Nafeesah is an Education Pathway Teacher and Coordinator at Minneapolis Public Schools, focusing on empowering students from diverse backgrounds to become socially conscious educators. Previously, Nafeesah held roles as Deputy Director at Educators for Excellence, where responsibilities included designing professional development and leading legislative campaigns, and as an Instructional Lead and Project Based Learning ELA Teacher at Minneapolis Public Schools, specializing in culturally responsive curriculum development. Nafeesah’s experience also encompasses leadership in STEM education, equity initiatives, and customer service in healthcare. Nafeesah earned a Master of Education from St. Catherine University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University.
