Sarah Kinney

Sarah Kinney is an accomplished public health professional currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner and Executive Director of the Health Cabinet for the State of Minnesota since February 2024. Kinney is also a member of the Board of Directors for The Food Group, where responsibilities include advising the CEO and overseeing strategic plans and public health priorities. Prior experience includes roles as a Health Insurance Specialist at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, focusing on behavioral health policy, and as Director of Healthy Hunger Relief at the Partnership for a Healthier America, where program development and COVID-19 impact assessments were key contributions. Kinney co-founded SuperShelf, a human-centered design organization, and previously held a directorial position at The Food Group Minnesota, facilitating advocacy and budget management. Their academic background includes a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Truman State University.
