Emily Marti

Emily Marti has a diverse work experience history, starting in 2004 as a Section Viola player for the Camerata Orchestra. From 2005 to 2011, they worked as a Substitute Viola player for various orchestras, including the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Philharmonic, and Terre Haute Symphony. In 2009, they also worked as a Violin and Viola teacher in a private studio. In 2011, Emily Marti transitioned to the field of design, working as a Graphic Design Assistant at the College of Education and Human Development - University of Minnesota. From 2012 to 2013, they pursued internships as a Letterpress Printing Intern at Angel Bomb and as a Communications Assistant at the Goldstein Museum of Design. In 2014, Emily Marti worked as a Graphic Designer for the Minnesota Orchestra before becoming the Art Director in 2017 and serving as the Environmental Sustainability Committee Chair from 2015 to 2019. Emily then became a Freelance Graphic Designer at Emily Marti Design in 2010, working on various projects until 2019. Finally, in 2019, they became a Graphic Specialist at the Minnesota Historical Society, responsible for graphic design for exhibits at various historical sites.

Emily Marti received their Bachelor's degree in Music (viola performance) and Studio Art from Indiana University Bloomington. Emily then went on to pursue a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Graphic Design with a minor in Product Design emphasizing designing for sustainability at the University of Minnesota. In 2013, they obtained certification as a SEED (Social Economic Environmental Design) certified professional from the SEED Network.
