Todd C. Scott began their work experience in 1994 at Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company, where they held the position of VP Risk Management. Todd C. joined Hamline University in 2010 as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Technology and remained in that role until December 2018.

Todd C. Scott completed their education in two institutions. From 1983 to 1987, they attended Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English Literature. Continuing their education, from 1989 to 1992, Todd studied at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree focused on Law.
