Laura Sayles is an experienced Government Affairs Specialist at the Minnesota Nurses Association since January 2015. Prior to this role, Laura held several key positions, including Director of Legislation and External Affairs at the Minnesota Department of Human Services (June 2011 - January 2015), Policy Director at the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation (September 2010 - May 2011), and DFL Research Consultant for the Minnesota House of Representatives (January 2007 - September 2010). Earlier in the career, Laura served as Research Coordinator at America Votes Minnesota (March 2006 - January 2007) and worked as a Grant Writer and Program Coordinator at the University of Minnesota's Institute for Global Studies (January 1999 - March 2006). Laura holds a BA in History from Lawrence University and an MA in History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with additional education from the University of Iowa.
