William Spartz

William Spartz is an experienced labor relations specialist currently representing over 1,750 nurses at the Minnesota Nurses Association since February 2015, focusing on collective bargaining for improved wages and benefits. Spartz has managed over 100 grievance cases and previously served as Chair of the Monticello School Board from January 2014 to January 2018, where a successful grassroots campaign led to a prominent election result. Additionally, Spartz held the position of Business Agent with UFCW Local 653 from February 1999 to February 2015, advocating for a diverse membership base and leading political initiatives for long-term care workers. With a background in public service as a Commissioner and Chair of the Monticello Planning Commission, notable contributions include overseeing significant city developments and improving zoning regulations. Spartz started a career as a firefighter in Golden Valley, Minnesota, earning the Firefighter of the Year award in 1995, and holds a high school diploma from Benilde-St. Margaret's.
