Carla Nelson

Carla Nelson has extensive experience in both public service and education. Since January 2011, Carla has served as a Senator for the Minnesota Senate, representing the communities of Chatfield, Dover, Eyota, Rochester, Stewartville, and 14 townships in Olmsted County, while also holding leadership roles in various committees. Additionally, Carla has been the Vice President of Olmsted Financial Group since March 2005, focusing on investments and asset protection. Prior experience includes serving as a State Representative in the Minnesota House from January 2003 to January 2005 and as a teacher with Rochester Public Schools ISD #535 from September 1992 to June 2000. Carla holds a Master of Education degree in Teacher Leadership and Reading Specialist from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Special Education and Reading Specialist from Drake University.
