Dr. Miriam Porter is a Professor and Internship Coordinator at Minnesota State University, Mankato, since 1995, also serving as the Department Chair of the Urban and Regional Studies Institute. With expertise in local government, Dr. Porter focuses on civic engagement and global solutions in research. Previously, Dr. Porter was a Visiting Scholar at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology from 2008 to 2009, where coursework in local government management and planning was taught, along with the development of a curriculum aimed at enhancing local government management in developing countries. Dr. Porter holds a Doctorate in Public Policy from Hamline University, earned between 1996 and 2000.
