Ryan Shirk is an experienced adjunct professor at Minnesota State University, Mankato, since August 2015, contributing to the field of music as a composer and arranger since 2003. As co-founder of the Bass Brand Brass Band, Ryan has arranged, transcribed, and composed music for various ensembles, demonstrating proficiency in notation software and audio processing. An accomplished independent musician, Ryan plays trombone, baritone, and euphonium in several bands, including the Minnesota River Valley Wind Ensemble and the Southern Minnesota Real Big Band. With a strong background in electrical engineering, Ryan served as an electrical engineer at Kato Engineering and held academic positions at Minnesota State University, including instructor and graduate teaching assistant. Ryan earned a Master of Science in Electrical/Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
