Dawn Pearson has a wide range of experience in human resources, spanning multiple industries and organizations. Dawn most recently served as the Human Resources Director at the Minnesota Zoo, where they oversaw various HR activities. Prior to that, they worked as a Human Resources Manager for the City of Minnetonka. From 2015 to 2020, Dawn held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at South Central College, where they provided leadership and direction for all HR initiatives. Their previous roles include HR Manager at Korn Ferry, Human Resources Director at Mayo Clinic Health System, and HR Manager at the City of Apple Valley. Dawn also gained experience as a Senior HR Generalist at Northwest Airlines, a Human Resources Generalist/Comp and Benefits Analyst at Metro Transit, and a Compensation Analyst at The Musicland Group.

Dawn Pearson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Human Resources Development from the University of Minnesota, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Dawn also pursued a PhD in Human Capital Management at Bellevue University in 2013. Before that, they completed their Master of Arts degree in Human Resource and Change Leadership at the University of St. Thomas from 2005 to 2009. Their undergraduate studies were completed at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from 1981 to 1985. In addition to their academic qualifications, Dawn Pearson has obtained certifications as a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM and as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI.
