Minority Women Pursuing Law (MWPL)
Minority Women Pursuing Law is the largest pre-law organization at The University of Texas at Austin. Intended to unite and motivate the community of minority women pursuing law in the Texas community, MWPL fosters a culture of connection that extends beyond our time as undergraduate students at UT. To propel our members into their successful careers as lawyers, we expose them to various sectors of the legal field by creating opportunities in which they hear insights from various respected individuals in the field of law. We believe that in learning from the legacies of attorneys that come before us, we can serve our communities better as lawyers and as women. Utilizing the knowledge we gain from teachers in the legal community, MWPL offers professional development workshops in which members have the opportunity to refine their professional portfolios through customized guidance attune to their cultural and ethnic backgrounds. To cultivate connection and community amongst MWPL members, we offer members the chance to network with other talented minority women on campus through socials, volunteer work, and fundraising events. MWPL hosts various social events like movie nights, hiking trips, bowling, study night socials, end-of-year dinners, and more! We are proud of the legacy of our orgnaization reflected in the success of every MWPL Longhorn, as they settle in their respective legal careers.
