Sean Anderson is a director based in Mexico City, who heads their Mexico City office and works closely with the Mintz Group’s Washington D.C. office. He works in their Latin American practice and has experience conducting complex litigation, integrity due diligence, and asset tracing investigations.
Sean has conducted numerous investigations throughout Latin America, with a particular emphasis on the infrastructure, energy, and financial services sectors. Recently, he undertook comprehensive pre-deal investigations into companies in Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico, which uncovered ties to organized crime, large-scale tax fraud, and money laundering. Sean has also led internal investigations into contract fraud and bribery at a large mining company and undisclosed conflicts of interest leading to multi-million dollar distressed loans at a multinational financial institution. He also manages cryptocurrency-related investigations on behalf of clients involved in multi-million dollar lawsuits.
Sean has worked in Colombia on a Fulbright grant, lived in Spain, and traveled throughout Latin America. He is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. Sean earned an M.A. in Political Science specializing in International Relations from McGill University and a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science from Luther College.
