Kazimierz S.

Data Science Manager at Miovision

Kazimierz S. has a strong background in data science and research. Kazimierz is currently employed at Miovision as a Data Science Manager since June 2022. Before this, they worked as a Data Science Lead from March 2022 to June 2022 and as a Senior Data Scientist from July 2019 to March 2022. At Miovision, Kazimierz developed complex SQL logic and supported the feature production team for "Intersection Health". Kazimierz also developed a Python algorithm code base for corridor offset optimization and performed user feature utilization analysis.

Prior to their work at Miovision, Kazimierz gained experience at Electronic Arts (EA) as a Data Scientist from October 2017 to July 2019. In this role, they supported the development of an unreleased mobile game and developed dashboards to provide key insights into player progression. Kazimierz also created a standardized taxonomy for data collection.

Before joining EA, Kazimierz worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy from October 2015 to September 2017. Here, they used molecular gas observations and a Bayesian likelihood approach to determine the physical conditions and chemistry of cold interstellar gas in galaxies. Kazimierz published their findings in multiple peer-reviewed papers.

Kazimierz's early career involved their role as a PhD Candidate at McMaster University from September 2011 to August 2015. During this time, they became the primary researcher on a project studying molecular gas conditions in local galaxy mergers. Kazimierz submitted multiple successful observing proposals and used Python for data analysis and publication.

Overall, Kazimierz's work experience showcases their expertise in data science, research, and analysis, particularly in the fields of traffic network optimization, game development, and astrophysics.

Kazimierz S. completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Astronomy at the University of Toronto Scarborough from 2003 to 2008. Subsequently, from 2009 to 2015, Kazimierz pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics at McMaster University. Following this, Kazimierz continued their education at McMaster University and successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics and Astronomy from 2011 to 2015.
