Zheng Yang

Co-founder & CTO at Mira

Zheng Yang has a wealth of work experience, beginning with their studies at Fudan University in 1999. Zheng then moved on to the University of Pittsburgh in 2003, where they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in Prof. Ivet Bahar's lab. In 2009, they joined the University of California, San Francisco as a Software Developer and Postdoctoral Scholar, and was part of the team developing UCSF Chimera. In 2011, they became a Computational Biologist at iPierian, where they researched, investigated, and analyzed image-based high content biochemical assays focused on the discovery of cellular signatures of neuron diseases. Finally, in 2014, they co-founded Mira.

Zheng Yang completed their B.S. in Physics from Fudan University in 2003. From 2005 to 2008, they attended Carnegie Mellon University, though they did not receive a degree. Finally, they earned their Ph.D. in Biophysics/Computational Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009.
