Othman Madjoudj

Othman Madjoudj has a diverse work experience in the field of cloud operations, system administration, and software development.

Othman started their career in 2008 as a Linux System Administrator at Kdhosting/Kdconcept, where they deployed and maintained hosting infrastructures for clients.

In 2011, they became a Contributor in the Fedora Project, working as a Developer/SysAdmin involved in Fedora/EPEL Development, Python SIG, Fedora Security Lab, and system administration.

Othman continued their involvement in open-source projects by joining The CentOS Project as a Member of the QA Team from 2011 to 2018, contributing to test suites development, QA, and CI/CD.

From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a System and Network Engineer on contract for Automation and Computer Technologies.

In 2015, they joined Ooredoo as a Senior Unix System Administrator, where they worked on a large telco environment managing physical servers, VMs, SAN switches, and storage devices. Othman also performed system monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.

In 2017, they became a Unix/Linux System Administrator at IBM, managing and supporting large infrastructure composed of Linux, UNIX, and VMware systems. Othman was responsible for scripting and automation.

Currently, they are working at Mirantis as a Principal Cloud Operations Engineer, focusing on OpenStack and infrastructure.

Othman Madjoudj completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Ecole nationale Superieure d'Informatique (ESI) in 2005-2008. Othman then pursued an Engineer's degree in Computer Science from Université Saad Dahlab de Blida from 2005 to 2008. After that, they obtained a French IT Diploma (EQF level 7) from 3iL Ingénieurs in 2014-2016. Furthermore, Othman completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Teesside University from 2020 to 2023. Othman also holds several additional certifications, including IBM internal certifications and Open Badges obtained in 2017, VMware Certified Associate 6 - Data Center Virtualization (VCA6-DCV) from VMware obtained in 2017, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA RHEL7) from Red Hat obtained in October 2016, and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE RHEL5) from Red Hat obtained in March 2011.
