Joshua Gibson

Joshua Gibson is a highly experienced research scientist currently working at Mirion Technologies, Inc., focusing on the research and development of Geiger Mueller Tubes and Low Background Proportional Counters. Previously, Joshua served as an Applications Specialist at ORTEC, supporting engineers with gamma-ray spectroscopy detectors, and as a Principal Physicist at Oliden Technology, where innovations in downhole tools for the oil and gas industry were developed. With extensive experience at Schlumberger as both a Technology Transfer Manager and a Physicist, Joshua contributed to the production of neutron detectors and sensor algorithm development. Early career experience includes engineering roles at NASA, where design work for aerospace experiments was conducted. Joshua holds a Master’s degree in Applied Physics from Rice University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University.
