Maxime Guais is currently an Ingénieur R&D optique at mirSense, a laser manufacturing start-up. Prior to this role, Maxime completed an internship at the same company where Maxime focused on designing a method to assemble optical elements on lasers. Maxime also has experience as a Technician in different departments at INA and in maintenance at Carrier MARNE ET MORIN. Maxime holds a Thèse de doctorat in Electronique et Optoélectronique, Nano- et Microtechnologies from Paris-Sud University, an Engineer's degree (Master) in Nanophysics from Imperial College London, and another Engineer's degree (Master) in Nanophysics from Grenoble INP - Phelma. Maxime also completed a Classe Préparatoire au Grandes Ecoles (CPGE) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry at Lycée Jacques Amyot.

mirSense technology is a developer and manufacturer of a new generation of ultra-compact gas sensors designed to offer lasers for the medium infrared. The company's Industrial Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) and QCL-based spectrometer modules provide very low detection levels for the control of gas emissions, detection of dangerous substances orthe analysis of biological samples, enabling industries and defense sectors to get affordable quantum cascade lasers.
