Michelle Sherman, CPA has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michelle served as the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer at Southwest Solutions from 2016, where they led finance and accounting, human resources, information technology, and other corporate operations. Prior to that, they were Vice President | CFO| Special Trustee at Barden Companies, Inc. from 1993 to 2019, overseeing the sale and liquidation of company assets and resolving financial, legal, and tax issues. At Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan from 2015 to 2016, Michelle was the Chief Financial Officer, managing finance, accounting, and information systems functions. Michelle began their career as an Auditor at Arthur Andersen from 1988 to 1993. Michelle has a strong track record of financial management, strategic decision-making, and collaboration with executive teams and boards.
Michelle Sherman, CPA holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Accounting from Michigan State University, which they obtained from 1983 to 1988. Michelle also obtained a Masters of Science degree in Finance from Walsh College between 1997 and 1999. Michelle Sherman has additional certifications including the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) qualification granted by the State of Michigan, Department of Licensing and RE in 1992, and a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate issued by USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in 2021.
