Christine Carr-Barmasse

Executive Director at MISSION: IGNITE

Christine Carr has over 20 years of experience in the professional world. Christine began their career in 1991 as a Designer at Myers Film Studio. In 1993, they became the Executive Director of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of WNY. In 2000, they were appointed Executive Director of MISSION: IGNITE Powered by Computers For Children. In 2004, they joined the FBI Citizen Academy Foundation as a Member and the Erie County Youth Board as a Board Member/Board Liaison. In 2006, they were appointed to the LB 07 Facitation Committee of Leadership Buffalo. In 2013, they were appointed to the Digital Literacy/Adoption Committee - Special Task Force NY State of the New York State Broadband Office and the City of Buffalo Committee of the IBM Smarter Cities Challenge. In 2017, they joined InfoTech WNY as a Board Member. In 2020, they became a WNY Digital Inclusion Coalition Member/Committee Member.

Christine Carr has a variety of educational experiences. Christine has obtained a Women in Business Certification from Canisius College, an NSFRE Certification from Canisius College, a Non-profit Business Certificate from Harvard Business School of Buffalo, a Business Management, Economics degree from SUNY Empire State College, Business Management & Marketing Coursework from Hilbert College, an AS in Communication & Media Studies from Villa Maria College, and General Studies & Fine Arts from Buffalo State University. Additionally, they have obtained an NSFRE Certification from the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
